6 Hour Mesa Verde National Park Tours

Leaving Durango and heading west you will begin to notice the change in vegetation as the geography changes, Ponderosa Pines with patches of Aspen scattered in the Gamble Oak on the mountain sides. Dropping down into fertile valleys as we draw closer to where the Ancients lived, it comes into view, Mesa Verde Spanish for green table, it’s covered with Pinon Trees, Cedar Trees and Sage Brush and Stands of Gamble Oak as well. Offering a spectacular look into the lives of the Ancestral Pueblo people who made it their home for over 700 years, from AD 600 to 1300. Today the park protects nearly 5,000 known archeological sites, including 600 cliff dwellings. These sites are some of the most notable and best preserved in the United States.

Mesa Verde is open year-round, but some areas are seasonal. To make the most of your trip let us design a tour for you to cover the things you are most interested in. You can choose to take in some of the Ranger guided tours as part of your day, or a hiking tour to see some of the lesser visited areas of the park, or more of a driving tour, checking out the many preserved dig site’s and the museum with it’s beautiful artifacts. Whatever the tour you desire we can put it together and provide a lunch for the day so you can get the most out of your experience. We will provide bottled water for the day, as most other beverages are not allowed in the majority of area’s within the Park.

Lunch options include your choice of: Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef, Salami, Veggie and Gluten Free sandwiches.
